Wells Faro GEM

GEM is a web application used to create and manage workflow processes in response to both internal and external mortgage loan requests .The application tracks and records customer requests from input to completion.

GEM is Global Event Management  , a legacy application for mortgage servicing. It is the most widest used workflow implementation in mortgage processing ,working continuously from past 10 years . As the end of support notification is released for the components(such as BAM,MQ)of this application ,a new project called GEM-Next Generation is currently development. The GEM Next Generation or GEM2 will replace both the old infrastructure and application. This application will be deployed with latest updates from IBM BPM and other integrating components.

Gem currently has over 23000 users in 50+ departments with over 833 business process , which will be replaced by GEM2(currently under development)

The business activity is fed to the business monitor application for the real-time view of business activity through data views. The most aligned path to modernize MQ workflow is to move to its modern day equivalent of IBM BPM 8.5.X/8.6X which is the reason LG Architecture has chose BPM .Lending Grid is currently building an 8.5X/8.6X environment that could be leveraged for that purpose.

In this architecture , BPM acts as an headless implementation streamlining different integrations through Integration designer (IID) . By creating a BPM as a service capability or as an headless implementation , GEM2 will be able to expose this capability to existing and future servicing systems wanting to leverage BPM without needing to build an entire BPM environment.

GEM2 UI will request application data access and mortgage services to IBM BPM through this integration channel (IID) which hosts data access to different components , like the rules Engine ,MWS and monitor Apps.

Any monitoring and servicing request will be channeling through the IID request and then as a request and then as a request to IBM BPM for request processing. The resultant is then provided back to GEM2 UI. Both application DB and shared DB is accessible to IBM BPM with this integration

The current Architecture is a combination of a host of products such as IBM IID,Process Center, IBM Websphere Process Server , IBM Portal Server etc
